Introduction: Meet the zodiacs
When someone is new to astrology they may initially think of their own astrological sign which relates to their birthday. These signs include the Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, and Pisces. Every one of these signs is ruled by different planets and is influenced directly by different houses. The twelve signs give us a basic idea of the underlying qualities that will be found in a person’s horoscope, but that is not where it ends.
Each of the astrological signs has a different element and quality associated with them that affect and influence an individual significantly. Because everyone’s horoscope is incredibly unique to that individual, an accurate astrological reading cannot be done without looking at the sign itself as well as the element and quality associated with that sign.
The signs, though individual when read separately, can be grouped according to the different elements and qualities that they have in common. The elements of signs refer to the basic character of the signs. These basic characteristics are divided into the four elements Earth, Air, Fire, and Water. The qualities of signs refer to how the signs tend to act or behave. The astrological signs may be Fixed, Mutable, or Cardinal.
